Lands & Legacy Weekend 2012

July 20 - 22, 2012

ESLT will be hosting a weekend celebrating wide open spaces. The Eastern Sierra embodies stunning scenery, world-class recreation opportunities, and a passionate community of people working together. The preservation of these unique and vital lands helps ensure future opportunities for visitors to the region.

During the weekend of July 20-22, ESLT will feature events designed to showcase the dramatic Eastern Sierra landscape and connect ESLT supporters and members to this treasured land. NBA great, bicycle enthusiast, and ESLT member and supporter Bill Walton, will participate in the weekend’s events. “This terrific event brings together all that is right in the world and life: the magnificent Eastern Sierra, health, sport, the team, riding our bikes with purpose and passion, and the chance to make a difference in all of our futures,” says Bill. “Preserving land forever does really matter on many, many levels. Won't you come with us and enjoy the ride?”

Bike-Fun Ride
Join Bill and other ESLT riders as they pedal along one of the most incredible and scenic roadways in America - the 23 mile June Lake Loop. The ride will include a gourmet “feed” station, a chair-lift ride to a BBQ lunch at June Mountain Ski Area, a limited edition ESLT Fun Ride t-shirt, and many photo opportunities with Bill. 7:45am Check-in begins at June Mountain Ski Area Parking Lot. 9am ride starts. 12pm - 1:30pm Lunch at June Mountain mid chalet. Photo opportunities with Bill Walton will be available during lunch.

Gala Dinner
The weekend will culminate with a gala dinner sponsored by Mammoth Mountain Ski Area on Saturday, July 21. The evening’s celebration will include a reception, dinner, silent auction, and entertaining program with Bill Walton and live music. Reception at 6pm with Dinner at 7pm.

Basketball Clinic - Mammoth Lakes

Green Creek Tour
Saturday, from 10am - 2pm, we invite you to come explore one of the most beautiful and lesser known places in Mono County! This is a rare opportunity to tour one of our current conservation projects in the Green Creek area. Participants will learn about land conservation efforts in the area and the unique human and natural history of the region.
